MLA’s husband slapped the Circle Inspector in Kota (Rajasthan) – Isn’t the Police Force themselves responsible for such kind of ill-treatment with their officers?

A recent incidence in Kota (Rajasthan) has once again ignited the “Battle of Superiority” between the Politicians and Police force. This incidence took place on dated 20th February 2017, when the workers of the present ruling party in Rajasthan state i.e. Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP), went to protest at the Mahaveer Nagar, Police Station, Kota (Rajasthan).

Police version – The Circle Inspector (CI) Mr. Sreeram Badesara, was slapped by Mr. Narendra Meghwal, husband of Mrs. Chandrakanta Meghawal, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Ramganj Mandi. In response to the same, the police have to use batons on the BJP workers in order to control the situation. It is also to be noted here with that a video of slapping the CI Mr. Sreeram Badesara has gone viral in the meantime.

Politician version – The police manhandled the workers of BJP and arrested a few of them. Later, the MLA, Mrs. Chandrakanta Meghawal went to meet the workers at the police station. Mrs. Meghawal stated that she along with her husband and the BJP District Head were first beaten up by the police force in the garden and later in the chamber, as well. Mrs. Chandrakanta claimed that her husband has not been involved in any kind of violence and he only came in between to protect her.

After this violence, FIR has been lodged by both the parties involved. Now the ball is in the court of the responsible authorities to decide that whose version out of the two is correct and who actually was at fault. But it seems as if at present the axe has fallen on the concerned policemen only because five policemen of that police station are sent to the police line. Obviously, the orders of sending these policemen to police line have been issued by the seniors in the same police force.

Now did the senior police officers took this decision in order to conduct an unbiased investigation in the matter concerned or was it a step taken solely out of the political pressure, is something which only the senior officers could answer to. On the contrary, the local police force has come out openly in support of the staff of Mahaveer Nagar, Police Station. Many of the police stations in the city boycotted the Mess and an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) has been reported to have requested for voluntary retirement in protest against this incidence.

Well, there is nothing wrong in supporting an honest person. In fact, we should always stand by the side of truth and, at the same time, protest and raise our voice against all the injustice happening around us. However, the big question is that when a police officer was slapped by the MLA’s husband, the entire police force got united and stood against their colleague, but what would have been their reaction if such an incidence happened with a common man?

Aren’t such incidences happening every now and then with the common men who doesn’t have any support of power, money or influence behind them? Aren’t the innocent victims always being harassed by the dishonest but powerful people? Whose side the “corrupt” police officers are taking in all such cases? Each and every single member of the police force should introspect that what would have been their stand if such an incidence took place between an honest common man and a dishonest powerful person?  Note: The above questions are only for the dishonest policemen. The honest policemen who always perform their duty diligently with utmost honesty should take a bow and keep up the good work.

When the common man pleads in front of the corrupt police officers for justice, don’t they disappoint the victim by taking the side of the powerful person? If yes, then it would not be wrong to say that the Police Force is themselves responsible for such kind of ill-treatment with their officers. It is because of the corrupt policemen that such powerful people get the courage to sit on the head of the entire department and act as if they are the King. It is nothing but the past conduct of the corrupt officials which comes back in the form of such incidences where even the honest officials get ill-treated. So it is for the entire police department to introspect, take learning from such incidences, as well as, take steps to ensure that no such incidence get repeated with the police force in the future.

I would like to end this blog with the very hope that “Truth and Justice should prevail always”. Let us always stand for honesty and justice, even if we have to fight against those who have the backing of money, power or influence. I do wish that there is peace all around and may the Almighty give good sense to each one of us.

God Bless you!

Ruchita Jain murder investigation – Was the approach of investigation officers right in this case?

Disclaimer: This blog is not meant to bring down the image of the Police department or entire investigation agencies. The blogger in true spirit respects the hard work that the Police Department is doing. However, the content of this blog should be taken as learning by the concerned officers, department and each one of us, so that mistakes like these are not repeated in future and the very motive of true justice is actually achieved in the real sense.

Last year, on dated 01st December 2016, a young lawyer named Mrs. Ruchita Jain w/o Mr. K. B. Gupta was brutally killed in broad daylight in her residence located at Flat No. 702, Orbit Apartment – 1, New Bhupalpura, Udaipur (Rajasthan). As per the post-mortem report, she was mercilessly stabbed 17 times with a wrench tool, resulting in serious injuries on her head and body. She died on the spot.

The soul shivers even with the thought that how painful the last few minutes of her life would have been. The loss of someone’s life is irrecoverable and it surely would have changed the life of her husband and their two little kids. This case indeed shocked the entire peace-loving community of Udaipur and left everyone thinking that how safe we all are. For a few days, there was an air of fear and suspicion, in and around the city, especially in the locality where this murder took place. Everyone was coming up with their version of the case or some latest updates on it.

All eyes were finally gazed on the Police Department to crack this case and unearth the culprit, as well as, the motive behind such a cruel incidence. The Sukher Police Station, on dated 22nd February 2017 i.e. 82 days after the incidence filed the 141-page charge sheet with the court. Although the police department and the concerned officers are patting their back for solving this so-called “difficult” case, still there are a lot of questions that has emerged from the working style of the Police Department as is evident in those crucial 82 days.

There were a few lapses on the part of the investigating team, which somehow points fingers on the credibility of the entire department and their working style. Below mentioned 6 points reflects the approach of investigation officers in this case –

  1. The superfast local police officers actually boasted to have solved this case on the very second day of the murder itself i.e. on dated 02nd December 2016, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Udaipur, claimed that they have solved the murder mystery and arrested the husband of the victim on charges of killing his own wife. – Without any solid evidence, against any suspect, is it justifiable to defame them in front of the entire world simply because the investigation agencies have some doubts about their involvement? Was the department in so much hurry to grab the praises that they even forgot to collect any single evidence against the husband before accusing him of being the murderer? Is there any possibility that this was intentionally done so that the actual culprit could get away in the present case?
  1. However, after the above claim by the police department of solving the case, on day 3 after the murder, a new angle came into limelight when one of the residences of the same Apartment, Divy Kothari, surrendered at Fatehpura, Police Station, claiming that he has murdered Mrs. Ruchita. Hence, the police have to release Mr. Gupta (husband of the victim) on account of acceptance of crime by the accused Divy Kothari. – After realising that it was a blunder on the part of the police department to charge and publicly announce the victim’s husband as the murderer, wasn’t it their responsibility to not only publicly accept their mistake but also apologize to Mr. Gupta and his family for defaming them?
  1. Further, the prime accused in this case Divy Kothari was also successful in misleading the police officers by acting so brilliantly that the police officers blindly believed on his side of the story that he was suffering from some mental disorder. Once again the investigation team, solely based on the story served to them by Divy Kothari, almost concluded that the accused was suffering from the mental disorder known as ‘Psychosis’ (loss of contact with reality) and in the influence of the same he killed the victim. – Is it believable that once again without any supporting evidence the officers concerned were eager to reach on to conclusions every now and then in the same case? Was it just a mistake on the part of the department to believe the story of the accused as told by him or was it done intentionally again?
  1. After realising that once again they have made a blunder in believing the claims with plain eyes, the police department got into a thorough investigation which resulted into the fact that Divy was just trying to fool the police officers and thereby mislead the investigation. Further, the team collected all the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) evidence “based on the information extracted from the accused”, which resulted in factual proofs to claim Divy as the actual accused in the present case. – Is there any valid reason which such learned officials could provide behind not taking help of the FSL evidence on the very first day of the investigation in a murder case? Is this the normal practice followed by the department to reach on to the conclusion? Isn’t the improper investigation major reason of accused being set free of charge in most of the cases?
  1. Quite surprisingly, even after all these blunders on the part of the department, the Station House Officer (SHO) in charge of the case was reported saying that “It was the toughest and challenging case of his entire life”. (Reference: Report published on dated 23rd February 2017 in Dainik Bhaskar Hindi daily newspaper) – Well, who better than the department people could tell that was this case actually difficult to crack or not? Was it actually a complicated case when the accused himself surrendered in front of the police and accepted that he has murdered Mrs. Ruchita? What was left for the department was to simply collect evidence with the help of the FSL team, based on the information extracted from the accused, isn’t it? Now, was it that difficult to do for such experienced and capable officers of the police force?
  1. Finally, I would like to raise an important point which has been altogether neglected in this case. For your information, a tortoise was found in the house of Mrs. Ruchita Jain and the picture of the tortoise that was clicked by the accused, just before the murder is one of the FSL evidence in the present case. However, there is no mention of the fact that was this tortoise a legal breed that is allowed to be kept as a pet in India or not. If not, then why the officials didn’t lodge any FIR against the responsible person for keeping a tortoise in the house, which under the Wildlife Protection Act is illegal. – Although it is not related to the murder mystery, still it should have been taken care of by the concerned team. In absence of which, we are forced to think that was it sheer negligence on the part of the investigation agencies or were they themselves unaware of the laws prevailing in the country?

At the end, I would like to wish that may the departed soul rest in peace and the culprit gets punished for the offence. I do hope that the investigation agencies work diligently in every case and ensure that none of the culprits is set free just because the investigation done at their end was improper. I would further like to appeal each one of you “To be cautious and be safe” because that is the only way we can reduce the number of such incidences happening around us.

God Bless you all.

Art of taking bath wearing a raincoat in the bathroom – Aren’t majority of the politicians expert in that art?

The current Prime Minister (PM) Mr. Narendra Damodar Modi on dated 8th February 2017, in his speech on the motion of thanks in the Upper House of Parliament i.e. Rajya Sabha, made a comment on the Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh. To be precise, PM Modi commented that “Itna sara hua, Un par ek daag nahi laga. Bathroom mein raincoat pehen kar nahaana, yeh kala toh sirf Dr Sahab he jaante hain, aur koi nahi janta” (Mr. Manmohan Singh was not charged with a single corruption charge even during the regime of the most corrupt government. It’s only Dr. Singh and no one else, who knows the art of taking bath wearing a raincoat in the bathroom: PM Modi).

As a common man, when I heard this comment from our Pradhan Sevak, I just wondered that till date how many of the politicians are being charged for any kind of offence and most importantly adjudged guilty for any of those charges in our country? Whenever these politicians are being charged for any kind of offence or involvement in any kind of corruption case then their instant reply is that “All the charges against me are Politically Motivated”. History is the witness that cases against these politicians linger on for ages and the ultimate fate of all these cases is that the politicians are set free from any kind of charges.

When the majority of the politicians are not adjudged guilty in any of the charges against them, then isn’t it true that these politicians are indeed expert in the “Art of taking bath wearing a raincoat in the bathroom”. If this is not true then will they throw some light on the fact that which raincoat the politician wore when post-Godhra Train incidence in the year 2002, the entire Gujarat state was burning? Coincidently, the Present PM was the Chief Minister (CM) of Gujarat state, during the occurrence of those riots, when the then PM Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee has to advise him to follow the Raj Dharam (Royal Duty). For your information, the Former CM of Gujarat too has not been adjudged guilty for any of the charges against him.

Time and again this question pops up in our mind that if the present central government is serious about the allegations they make on the Former PM, then why didn’t they unearth the corruption cases against him, till date? Instead of passing loose remarks in the parliament the present government should have brought strong evidence against all those who were involved in the corruption cases. I don’t know what stop them from doing so. Do they lack the willingness to open up cases against those whom they openly allege to be corrupt or are they themselves afraid of any of their own questionable deeds or past wrong acts?

This blame game is never going to end. It seems as if it’s the basic ingredient and part and parcel of the political system. Every party alleges the opposition party and when they themselves come in power they don’t take any actions on the allegations they used to make earlier. We, the common citizens could only wish that one day Justice will prevail over anything else (including power). That will be the day when none of the corrupt politicians will be able to take rescue of any of the raincoat. That will be the day when we will be able to make our nation corruption free. Only that day one politician could point the finger towards the other and say that “Even if you know the art of taking bath wearing a raincoat in the bathroom, it will be of no help”. Until then it would be right to say that “Hamam mein sab nangeny hain” (Everyone is naked in the bath).

I wish that the Almighty give good sense to all of us.

Be in touch.

God Bless!

Flaunting too much on social networking platforms? – Beware you are being watched

Are you obsessed with flaunting too much on social networking platforms? Do you enjoy sharing all the events happening in your personal life with the virtual world? Is everyone in your network always aware about your travelling plans? Do you feel proud in flashing with the online community, your event calendar, which comprises of all the forthcoming events that you are planning to attend? If your head nodded against any of the above questions then better beware because you are being watched.

At the outset, let me make it very clear that your social networking account is solely your property and it’s only you who have the right to decide that what and how much you want to reveal about yourself and your activities with the virtual world. I am no one to stop you from sharing your stuff with whoever you wish too. I very well know that it’s none of my business to interfere in your personal life. Hence, this blog is not meant to question your personal choice in any manner, rather it’s an attempt to throw some light on the risk involved with opening up too much on social networking platforms. I urge everyone to read this blog with an open mind and also educate others about the risk they carry with their social networking accounts.

No doubt there is an ocean of data available on the subjects pertaining to the dangers and precautions to be taken while dealing with the virtual world. Still, all of us tend to make mistakes every now and then and hence we need timely reminders to save us from any unfortunate event that might occur otherwise in our life. As such, I have tried to jot down three of the most common practical mistakes visible on social networking platforms which make us vulnerable to a lot of threatening incidences.

The three most common mistakes on social networking platforms are excessive sharing of –

  1. Personal Information – If you feel proud to share your personal life and most importantly your pictures every now and then revealing yourself in expensive attires, displaying the places you often visit, your workplace, your contact details, exposing the details about your family members, name of your kid’s school or any place they frequently visit, etcetera. Then better be cautious because you and your family members are prone to very high risk. The social networking platforms are being watched from every corner and who knows you might soon be hosting an uninvited guest knocking at your door. Sharing of excessive information might also lead to someone stalking you. So it’s better for you to keep a check on things you want to share with others so that you don’t risk your life, as well as, the life of your closed ones. Now next time before sharing too much of your personal information make sure that you at least have a Z+ security by your side to safeguard you from any kind of unwanted incidences happening in your life.
  1. Travel Plans – One of the biggest blunders being committed on social networking accounts is to share the travelling plans. I mean just imagine that you are leaving your home and you publish that information in front of the entire world. By this kind gesture of yours “especially towards the thieves” you not only open your gates for them to trespass your home with utmost ease but, at the same time, you also put the life of your loved ones back home, at stake. Just because you want to flaunt in front of the entire world that you are travelling to different locations on business, personal or vacation trips, you publish such critical information, which in itself is a sufficient data for a person with malicious intentions to take advantage of. Such casual posts of yours, act as the most vital information about your absence from the place of residence. Don’t forget that in this data mining age your account details could very well be churned up based on your past information to extract details such as the most likely time for your next vacation trip, etcetera. Now you can just imagine how safe you, your family members and your property back home is, after that post of yours. Isn’t it a suicidal attempt?
  1. Event Calendar – If you feel proud in flashing with the online community, your event calendar consisting of all the forthcoming events you are planning to attend in the near future, then it’s the right time for you to hear the danger bell ringing exclusively for you. No doubt you get that urge to exhibit in front of the entire world, the prestigious events (which others can’t afford to go) or even the social gatherings you are going to attend, but by this small act of yours, you simply give an opportunity to someone with malicious intentions to either stalk you or even trespass your place in your absence. Showcasing things to the outside world may be a matter of extreme pride for you, but do give it a thought that is your over flaunting attitude somehow making your life too prone to unwanted risk or what.

However, one could easily counter on this by replying that sharing their personal stuff is a means of being in touch with other people. If they wouldn’t be sharing all that, then such platforms would never have been a real success. If people like them don’t flaunt themselves on such platforms then how would others be able to pass their time? It’s only because of people like them who share the so-called interesting stuff that others get the opportunity to peek into their life and enjoy. To all this, I would simply like to say that we are extremely obliged to them for sharing their personal stuff in abundance and we also look forward to more and more “personal” stuff coming from them.

Now, it’s up to you whether you want to “Share Smartly or Simply Share”. The choice is yours after all life is yours. Further, if you think that sharing your details only with “Friends” or “Friends of Friends” is quite safe, then sooner or later this bubble of yours will get burst too, because when the social networking accounts of big personalities are easily being hacked then you can just imagine how safe your account is.

As rightly said by Mr. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe “Precaution is better than cure”, so let us all be cautious before any unfortunate event happens with anyone of us because of our excessive information sharing attitude. Everything has a positive and a negative side attached to it and it’s for us to decide and take advantage of the positive side, while not getting carried away by the negative side. Stay safe and do take a very good care of yourself and everyone around you. Be guided and share the information with others too. Act smart and make use of the social networking platforms wisely.

Be in touch.

God Bless!

Being a Superpower is not about building walls against the entire world

Being a Superpower is not about attacking any country or a person. Being a Superpower is not about humiliating the respected dignities, personalities and common people of other countries. Being a Superpower is not about treating everyone else as inferior. Being a Superpower is not about carrying an ego that holds a person from apologizing for their own wrong deeds. Being a Superpower is absolutely not about building walls against the entire world.

Human Being is a social animal. We humans have to live together and breed a society that collectively develops. If any of the human beings thinks that they can live and progress all alone, keeping aside the interest of all other living beings, then sorry to say, but they are living an unrealistic dream. We can’t be so self-centred that what we care about is just our own ambitions and nothing else. Humanity is also about caring for others.

Similarly, if any nation wants to make progress solely on its own, then it is free to do so, but that is practically impossible. In this era of globalization no one can stay aloof and make progress. Each one of us is dependent on others for something or the other. If any nation dares to think that it’s a Superpower and is self-sufficient in all respect then it will be the biggest mistake of that nation. Economies of the entire world are dependent on each other. It is a cycle and hence when one is impacted the other is bound to be affected by it. We can’t take decisions in isolation, especially those which have a global impact. If still, someone tries to do that, then they should be ready to bear the consequences of the same in the long run.

No doubt it’s the right of any nation to protect their frontiers, and for that, if required, they are also free to build walls at their territorial boundaries (in consent with the neighbouring nation). However, if any leader is adamant and doesn’t consider the interests of other nations, doesn’t care about nations who are dependent on them or have friendly relations with them from centuries, while making and implementing the policies of their nation, then, in fact, they are building walls in the hearts of the entire world.

Throwing away the people from any nation or restricting entry into a nation could be a temporary boost up for that nation’s economy. But such nations should think that in this time of World Wide Web and oceans of opportunities available in every part of the world, will any country be able to restrict talented people from making their presence felt? By such acts, they will not only part away with the talents working for them but also widen the gap between nations for any future tie-ups.

Mr. President, United States of America (USA), it’s a genuine advice from a common man, that sooner the better you realize it that your attitude and steps are leading you nowhere else but to a steep downfall. By your egoistic behaviour and absurd decisions, you are harming no one else but your own country, people, party and yourself too. No doubt the entire world and their economies are going to be badly impacted by your insensitive decisions and rude behaviour, but in turn, it will surely have a larger negative effect on the USA and its economy too. Just wait and watch for the future to reveal the consequences of your steps.

Do remember that “Superpower is all about respecting every being and embracing the world with open arms”. Wish the leaders of the so-called Superpower nations would have read, understood and followed the couplet of the great saint Kabir Das Ji – “Bada hua toh kya hua jaisey pedh khajoor, panchi ko chaya nahi, phal lagey ati door” (In vain is the eminence, just like a date tree, no shade for travellers, fruit is hard to reach). I also hope that the egoistic souls have heard the famous quote of Confucius “The green reed which bends in the wind is stronger than the mighty oak which breaks in a storm.”

At last, I would like to point out that the best part of Democracy is that a government is elected only for a specific duration. However, the bad part is that some leaders could ruin the fate of the entire nation and its citizens during this period available to them. So it is up to the awaken citizens of every nation to keep a watch on all those whom they have elected to rule over them for the next term. If the citizens don’t stand against the wrong decisions of their rulers then no one else would be able to save them and their nation. At the same time, the entire world should come together and raise their voice against the absurd policies of any nation which impacts the whole world. If the entire world doesn’t register their protest against such acts now, then they will give an indication to the Superpower nations that they are willing to get oppressed by them in the near future. It’s a high time for all of us to speak against the wrong acts of any person/nation whoever it may be.

Always keep this in mind that “There is and will always be only one Superpower – the Almighty God”. I wish that the Almighty give good sense to each one of us.

God Bless you all!

Be in touch.
